Jim (DSC) just wanted to write you a little note to say “Thanks for everything!” Our son had a blast celebrating his 21st birthday with all his friends at DSC :). It was a perfect place where everyone could mingle, play volleyball, have food and drinks in a comfortable setting. I believe we put you on the map for future events since we covered many guests from Sugar Grove, Elburn, Aurora, Lombard, Downers Grove, Naperville etc. who were pretty impressed with your facility. The staff were awesome too! We hope to see you again!

“While having initial reservations about scheduling a 12yr old Beach Volleyball Birthday Party at a bar, where it was also karaoke night and a singles club had reserved the adjoining court, we could not have been more happy that we did. The place is immense and we basically had our own area, so there is little to no interaction with the bar patrons or the group playing on the adjoining court. Jim and his crew went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The kids had a blast with the Giant Jenga, pool tables, foos ball, bags and obviously the volleyball court. There was so much to do that the night flew by, and ended with all of the other kids telling their parents they wanted to have their parties there as well. Great time, great place, and fun for kids and adults. Couldn’t recommend it more!”

“I would be happy to recommend Downers Sand Club as a great place to host a party. I held a 60th birthday party for my husband here and everyone had a great time. We had food, drinks, bean bags, pool tables, and karaoke. We didn’t take advantage of the volleyball, but the people playing looked like they were having a great time. Jim was great in helping me plan the evening and making sure everything went well. Thanks for the great time!”
– Katie Millar“We celebrated my birthday on a Wednesday night and wanted to do volleyball. We rented out one court (it was enough for our group of 15) and had the back bar all to ourselves. Our service was always quick and friendly and the food came out super quick. We even had the owner Jim as our personal bartender (he made an awesome green shot as a birthday treat for me). The pricing was great and very affordable for a simple birthday idea, plus they have a great selection of craft beers including Urban Chestnut, Anderson Valley, and plenty of Two Brothers and Goose Island. The food is excellent and very affordable, plus (at least with the appetizers) they come out lightning fast. Besides volleyball, they have indoor bags, pool tables, and when we were there, they had open mic stand up comedy. I highly suggest this for any party ideas and would rate them a 10/10. I will definitely be using them for future party ideas. Thanks DGSC!”

“I held my brother’s bachelor party and we all had a great time. We wanted something different then a typical bachelor party. For the amount of people we had it was perfect and playing volleyball was a great way to burn off dinner. Drink prices was good, a court prices was like 12 bucks a guy for two hours. everyone had a good time, would throw a party again”

– Alexandro Estevez“We had my son’s college graduation party at Downers Sand Club, and it was a blast. There were about 70 people in our group. We had appetizers (ordered from the catering menu) and a cash bar. Prior to the party we talked with the owner, Jim, who suggested what kind of food to get, how much, etc. They let us bring our own cake in. They reserved a large area for us, in the back, close to one of the bars. We had plenty of reserved space for our large group, including several tables and chairs, and enough room to mingle comfortably. Everyone loved the food, the drinks, the fun atmosphere, and the games. We had a few children there. They were welcome, and had a good time playing volleyball and games. (We reserved the volleyball court for one hour.) In addition to playing volleyball, guests got to play bags, giant Jenga and a bunch of other games. Another great reason to have a party there – they don’t charge for the space. All we paid for was the food! We looked at other places to have the party and they wanted money to get a reserved spot.”
